Solid wood panelling was never truly out of style
Churches, monasteries, castles, mansions... they often have wood panelling against the walls. Back then, they were a means of keeping the cold and the damp out of the rooms.

Historical wooden panelling, also known as wainscoting or boiserie, was a hallmark of grand interiors from the Renaissance to the 18th century, showcasing intricate carvings and luxurious craftsmanship. Often crafted from oak, walnut, or mahogany, these panels served both decorative and functional purposes, adding warmth, elegance, and insulation to spaces in castles, manors, and palaces.
Panelling walls is a traditional technique in interior architecture that refers to the decorative wooden panels attached to walls. This technique originated in France and became particularly popular in the 17th and 18th centuries, where it was used to enhance rooms and create a sense of luxury and elegance, as well as a feeling of symmetry and harmony in a space.
Panelling not only adds a refined and classic appearance to any space but also aids in wall insulation, contributing to better energy efficiency. Moreover, wooden panels are durable and can last for many years.
Our panelling consists of custom-made panels that can be executed in various wood species, styles and finishes. The panels can be simple or richly adorned with ornaments, carvings and moldings.

A marked trend is decorated panelling, painted with a snow white lacquer, paired with colourful design furniture. It looks especially beautiful in old apartments or houses with high ceilings. Such as the apartments from the period of French urban architect Georges-Eugène Haussmann.
After the initial discussions with the client and after careful research, Greet creates a sketch of the paneling with all the necessary ornaments, if applicable. She has never made the same design twice. Once these sketches are approved by the client, the client’s interior is measured. Jan uses specialised software to turn the sketches into technical drawings or plans.
To make panelling and furniture, Jan buys nothing but noble wood, such as oak, walnut, cherry, mahogany, elm, maple,… Tree by tree, all from the same part of the forest, if he can get it. The boards - still shaped like the tree - lie in the warehouse to dry.
When they start an assignment, the carpenters open up the pile like a book. They can read the wood's character, the uniformity of the grain and the colour. Then, each board starts its own artisan journey, to become a beautiful piece of panelling or furniture.
Authentic interiors reflecting a warm and charming atmosphere with a penchant for noble wood and a passion for craftsmanship. Belgian quality with a pronounced artisanal character.
